4 Tips for Preparing to Head Back to Uni after Summer

A busy week of fresher’s nights, getting used to heavy drinking again and destroying your body clock, it’s difficult to get back into work-mode once university starts up again. Here are a few tips to make the transition from summer to university life a little easier:

One

Decide on a Budget

Sometimes student budgets tend to fizzle out a few months in to the first term, so figure out a way of sticking to your budget before you go back. Maybe even set up a direct debit to yourself so you’re more likely to stick to it.

Two

Brush up on Skills

It might be hard to get back into the swing of things during the first few weeks back at uni, so to make the transition a bit easier by picking up a book you like, or by finally reading some of the required reading before term!

Three

Check the Reading List

If some of your first semester modules are popular, the required reading could go out of stock or disappear off the library shelves in the first week or so. Do some research to see if you can buy them cheap, or take them out for loan in advance.

Four

Change Your Address

Don’t forget to let you doctor or favourite magazine subscription know about your change in address, if you’re moving into new accommodation. The new tenants in your old house might get pretty irritated after the third time they receive your online shopping order…
